What to Know about the Savannah Attraction
The Oatland Island Wildlife Center is only about 20 minutes away from Tybee Island, making it easy to get there. Over the years, the center’s location has undergone several transformations, including a plantation and a research center.
In 1974, it became the Oatland Island Education Center, which was renamed Oatland Island Wildlife Center in 2007. 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of the center, which covers roughly 100 acres of maritime forest.
